Sisters!

Having a sister is a very precious gift! I hope Jordyn and Jalyn will appreciate their gift of each other as much as Steph and I do!! We love you Steph (Aunt Stephy)!

Christmas Cutie

It's hard to believe our littlest peanut will be FOUR months old at the end of this week. She still loves to smile, giggle and talk to us. She is beginning to grab and play with toys now, and she loves watching EVERYTHING her big sister does. Now hopefully she doesn't pick up all her big sister's bad habits!

Dear Santa!

Santa Claus came to Jordyn's preschool class. Jordyn asked Santa for a Leapster then Santa gave all the kids a present. At first I didn't understand why Jordyn was so disappointed when she opened up her puzzle from Santa.....she LOVES puzzles. When we got in the car after class I asked her if she liked seeing Santa. She said, "I asked Santa for a Leapster, but he gave me a puzzle." I think she just thought he needed to just pull it of his sack right then. I mean that would have been most convenient for everyone!!

Where does the time go??

I had Jalyn at the Dr. this morning for her 2-month check up. She weighed 11 pounds and 8 ounces, and she was 21 1/2" long.....from birth she's gained 3 1/2 pounds and has grown 2 1/2". This was also her first big round of shots, I think she took it much better than I did. She fell asleep on the way home, I was still crying on the way home! But we both had a little to eat and a little tylenol. I think with a good afternoon nap we'll both feel much better!

I am SOOOO SAD to think I'll have to go back to work on Monday. I am not looking forward to it at all. I have thoroughly enjoyed "sitting around these last 10 weeks waiting on my government check to come in the mail!" (At least that is what my husband tells me I've been doing) I guess I just need to be thankful I still have a job to return to and for a wonderful sitter who I know loves Jalyn and will care for her as well as I can.

I promise I'll try to at least get a Christmas picture posted for you....I'm not promising it will be before New Year's, but I'll get one posted!!

Going Bonkers!

Yesterday I met a friend of mine from grade school and her kids at Bonkers in Columbia. I thought Jordyn would be a little timid at first due to the size of the play equipment, but it wasn't anytime before she was clear at the top. She was a true monkey that afternoon. She can't wait to go back!

Homecoming Parade!

This afternoon Jordyn rode on the float for preschool in Marshall's homecoming parade. It was a little cool, but she had a good time!

What a big girl!

We had Jalyn at the doctor this week for her one-month check up. She's gained 2 pounds, and she grew 1 1/2". She's already just growing up too fast!!

Jalyn Olivia

Jalyn Olivia was born on September 1 at 7:14 a.m. She weighed 8 lbs 0.8 oz and was 19" long. We've only been home just short of 24 hours, but she has just been the best baby. She's very content, and she loves to smile! Other than Jalyn's DARK hair, she does look a lot like Jordyn's newborn pictures. Speaking of big-sister Jordyn, she seems to be accepting Jalyn very well. Jordyn gets very concerned when Jalyn starts to cry. She asks us if she's hurt. We thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers during this pregnancy and delivery. We couldn't have asked for anything to go better.

Jordyn at the Circus!

Last week the circus was in town, and we knew Jordyn would at least LOVE to see the animals. She couldn't get over how "big" the elephants were! As for the circus itself, we all gladly left at intermission, and Jordyn was excited to get a "Dora with a star" balloon.

Less than 6 Weeks!!

Yes, it is hard to believe in less than 6 weeks we will finally get to meet this new little addition to our family. So far everything with "baby girl" and the pregnancy seem to be great. My final shot is this week, and needless to say I am VERY excited about that! I'll continue to have ultrasounds the next three weeks, but I wanted to share pictures of my ultrasound from July 16. They did a 3D ultrasound. It was so neat to actually see what she will look like. She does favor big sister quite a bit, and the technicians always comment on how much hair she has. You can see her face in the first picture, and in the second picture she has her foot in front of her face. So cute and soooo amazing!!

First Night in the Big-Girl Bedroom

Jarad's had Jordyn's new big-girl bedroom ready for over a week now, but we thought we would work towards a gradual transition before she slept in it. Last week we sat her new dollhouse in her new room along with a few of her other toys, and last night we asked her if she wanted to sleep in there. We got her all ready for bed, ready her a book, said our prayers, and left her with the closet light on. We never heard a peep out of her, and when I went in this morning to check on her, Minnie was the only one who fell out of bed. Jordyn says she liked sleeping in her new room. Hopefully this is the beginning to a wonderful transition to the baby's arrival!

Baby Update!

On Thursday, the baby and I went for our "every 4 week" check-up. Everything seems to be just great ..... "we've" gained 15 pounds, my blood pressure was 100 over 52, her heart rate was 140 bmp, and I passed my glucose test. The doctor did say that beginning in two weeks (June 25) he wants us to go to the hospital for weekly ultrasounds for the next 7 weeks, and then go to his office to see him. June 25 will be a more routine ultrasound to see if the baby is continuing to grow appropriately. The subsequent ultrasounds are precautionary due to Jordyn's birth. The doctor still feels like there's no reason "baby girl" won't wait until her due date to make her arrival, but he just wants to monitor us. I'm still getting my weekly shots, and I'll continue to do so until about the end of July. They still haven't been too horrible. The first few days are a little tender, but usually by the end of week, I can't remember in which side I had the previous shot. Stay tuned, I should have plenty of "baby girl" pictures to share in the future!

The Birthday Cake

My mom was always good about making us themed birthday cakes when we were little. I wanted to say I at least made one for each of my girls so I thought I better get started! Although my mom graciously baked the actual cake and iced it, I helped with the clubhouse. Mom and I worked on it from 5:00 in the afternoon to nearly 10:00 that night, but I LOVED how it turned out. I think Mom and I both felt a presence of Ace of Cakes near us as we were decorating it. Most importantly Jordyn loved her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake, and I hope one day she looks at the pictures and realized how much work her mom and Meme Gayle put into that cake. Now, what will I have to do next year....a life-size cake of Dora???

Jordyn 3rd Birthday!!!

On June 11 we celebrated Jordyn's 3rd Birthday!!! It was very busy getting in all the festivities so let me begin......Sunday (June 7) we celebrated with family. She was SO bashful when everyone started singing Happy Birthday to her! Then when we all cheered after she blew out her candle, she ran to me and buried her head in my shoulder. But she quicky recovered after eating a piece of cake and started opening presents! Then on her birthday, she started the day by taking "nonuts" (donuts) to Carol's for breakfast. Then I took off work early to take them ice cream for snack. We came home to open her present....a dollhouse. We had one of her favorite foods for supper from....China Inn. And she also had lots of visitors that evening....Meme G., Aunt Steph, Papa John and Meme Linnea. It is so hard to believe she is 3 years old. She is getting to be such a big girl.

First Day at Preschool

This fall Jordyn will be attending Bright Beginnings Early Childcare Center (the new preschool at our church). She will be going Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 11 in the morning. This summer the preschool is offering "summer" school" for all the new students starting and the returning students for the older classes. We thought this would make for a great transition this fall so Jordyn will be going to summer school two days in June and two days in July. This past Wednesday was her first day! I wish I could say what a great experience it was for her, but unfortunately I can't. The good things.....she loves Mrs. Joely, for the most part she liked the other kids there, and she had fun with the different activities (there are tons of books and a 3' Dora there, what wasn't there not to like?). The not so good things.....she didn't want to use the big potty so she was a little wet by the time I picked her up, and she also hit one of the other little girls. We didn't start out having a very good morning so I'm hoping the next time things will go better, and "Dora and Boots" will get to go (but hopefully only until the new of school wears off). She has said she's ready to go back to play with Mrs. Joely so hopefully the first day didn't scar her for the rest of the year!

A Special Anniversary

On June 22 of this year, John and Linnea will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Out of love and appreciation for everything their parents have done for them, Jarad and Jason wanted to have a surprise BBQ to celebrate the occasion. So this past Saturday friends and family from Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska all came to celebrate with them. Congratulations, and we wish you many more blessed years together!

First Waverunner Ride

Over Memorial Day weekend, Jarad took Jordyn for her first waverunner ride. Jarad said she didn't say a word the whole time they were out. They got back, and I asked her if she liked it, and she just gave me a nod. Papa John then took the waverunner for a ride, and when he got back, Jarad turned the lift on to raise the waverunner, and Jordyn was standing next to me whispering "I want to do it again, I want to do it again." So Jarad took her for another ride. With each ride she seems to be enjoying it more. We think it's just a little overwhelming for her. By the end of summer, she'll probably think she can drive it herself!

It's a GIRL!

That's right, the Lord has blessed us with another little girl! As of Thursday last week, our baby girl weighed about 1 pound and 3 ounces. She is also about 12" long. She is right on track for her due date of September 7. She is a very active little girl as I'm sure she knows she'll have to keep up with her big sister! Jordyn really hasn't grasped the concept of having a baby come live with her. We pray it's a good adjustment for ALL of us!

Halfway there!

That's right, today marks week 20 for Baby Muller. I had a doctor's appointment last week, and the baby seems to be developing right on track. The doctor says if we make it to that point, we can pick a day between September 1st and the 7th to have the baby. I also got my first progesterone injection last week as well. So far I haven't had any complications with it, and the shot wasn't any worse than any other routine shot. I'll continue to take the injection weekly through week 34. And I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait a few more weeks to find out if the baby is a girl or boy. My next doctor's appointment is May 14.

Easter '09

Doesn't Jordyn look like a big girl in her Easter dress? Yes, her hair is a little wild. That picture was taken after we had gotten home from church, and she was sorting through all her Easter candy. We went to my cousin's house for Easter dinner, and Jordyn had a great time hunting Easter eggs at their house. I hope all of you had a blessed Easter!

Nine Years!

Today Jarad and I celebrated our 9th Wedding Anniversary. Never did I think 9 years ago I could love him more than I did at that moment. Our love has grown through faith, friendship, and now our family. I pray God will continue to bless our marriage. Happy Anniversary, Jarad!

A Day of Firsts!

Hello to all of our family and friends. I thought this would be a great way for all those we love to keep up with the Mullers. In this first blog, I would like to share with you about another first in the Muller household.......Jordyn got her first haircut this morning! She was very good for having no idea what was going on. Jordyn thinks Aunt Steph did an awesome job, and Jordyn thought it was great because she got a sucker!

I hope you enjoy this and all the future blogs from the Mullers.
